If you are delayed, unwell or not attending the event please contact the organisers as soon as possible. We have a tight schedule and will start without you if we hear nothing. If we know you are running late we may delay, or you might have to fight your missed poule fights in a row, if you arrive after the poule has finished you will be scratched.

FORMAT
1 round of poules followed by direct elimination. Subject to numbers, poules may be of mixed gender but will be not mixed weapon size. All DE’s will be separated. Additionally, as if you choose to enter multiple weapons there maybe some overlap between the last few rounds and the start of the poules for the next event. However, we will try to
keep this to a minimum.

EQUIPMENT 
ALL WEAPONS: All fencing clothing and equipment must comply with BF regulations
A minimum standard of 350N/CEN1 mask with back strap, jacket and breeches and a plastron of 800N. Long socks need be pulled up so there is no gap between socks and breeches. Long hair must be tied back.
FOIL:
Blade size 5 or below.
Lame foil bibs with connecting straight wire are required.
EPEE:
Blade size 5 or below
SABRE:
Blade size 5 or below
800N/CEN2 glove

To assist with the smooth running of the event, each fencer must have at least two working weapons and
body wires at the piste as well as the correct clothing.
There will not be an armourer at the competition.

Rule Update
We will be using the new passivity rule introduced on the 1 st of January 2023 by the FIE. If you have any
questions about this rule please ask on the day.
t.124 Unwillingness to fight:
DE Only
After one minute of fencing without a hit or without a hit scored off target
o 1 st Instance: Both fencers are awarded a P-Yellow card (separate from other penalty cards)
o 2 nd Instance: Both fencers aware awarded a P-Red card (both fencers are awarded a penalty hit)
o 3 rd Instance:
If the scores are not equal the fencer with the higher score wins the bout.
If both scores are equal, the fencer with the higher initial seeding in the competition wins the bout

There will be no catering at this event. Please bring your own food and drink with you.
