Only British Fencing members over 18 and affiliated to Southern Region are entitled to vote.

Elections

Under rule 8.7 of the constitution both Chair and Treasurer must retire this year. Nominations are sought for both positions.

Proxy Vote

There has been a request for information about proxy votes at the forthcoming AGM on 16^th July 2023.

The relevant section of the constitution states:

9.1.        All individual members of British Fencing affiliated to the Region may vote in the General Meetings of the Region providing they have reached their 18^th birthday on or before the date of the meeting.

9.2.1     In the event of a person entitled to a vote, being unable to attend, they may register their proxy vote, in writing or by e-mail, at least 5 days in advance, with the Chair of the meeting. Such a proxy vote may direct the Chair to either cast the vote for/against/abstain on any particular agenda item, or empower the Chair to cast the vote at their discretion.

Anyone wishing to lodge a proxy vote for this AGM should, before Wednesday 12^th July, email the chair at chair@southernfencing.org.uk. Please include your BF number and send the email with a “request read receipt”, so that you have confirmation that vote has been received.”
