"Are You Ready to Compete? Register for the Southern Region Senior Championships on Sport80 Now!"

The event has finally been approved by British Fencing and we are happy to announce that it is now possible to enter the Southern Region Senior Championships.


The new venue that will host the event will be the sports hall of Altwood School, in Maidenhead (Sl6 4PY). Plenty of parking space, dedicated changing rooms and at least 6 pistes are ready to welcome fencers aged 13+ from all over the Region. Be quick, entries will close at 23.59 on Wednesday 22nd May. Check in times will be announced right after registrations close.

Important information

Please note that the competition is self-reffing. We might be able to provide some referees for the epee competition thanks to the volunteers from Luso International Fencing.


All fencing clothing and equipment must comply with British Fencing regulations.

A minimum standard of 350N/CEN1 mask, jacket and breeches and a plastron of 800N.

Long socks need be pulled up so there is no gap between socks and breeches. Long hair must be tied back.


Foil, epee and sabre: size 5 or below

Lame foil bibs with connecting straight wire are required for foil. A 800N/CEN2 glove is required for sabre.



Please note that there will not be an armourer at the competition.


A small selections of cakes will be available for fencers and volunteers, kind courtesy of volunteers from Luso International Fencing.


Please do not forget to bring your own food and drink with you as there will be no catering at this event.
